Pleasing Events, Not Enjoyable Ones Mind You

I’ve neglected this thing for a while, need to get back into it. I actually Can’t say much, there hasn’t been a huge enjoyable event in a while. There has been however, a culmination of small pleasing events. You may think that since they were smaller items, they weren’t enjoyable. They were by all means enjoyable, yet i feel they deserve less of a title.
Pleasing event ONe: I WON A SETTLERS GAME! If you don’t know what settlers of catan is please read logan’s story here. It was the first time I’d won one, which is kewl cause its a hard game to win. And after a rousing game of disc golf at the park with friends too.
Pleasing event two: Played Settlers in a parking lot on the ground with friends. Also fun, yet cold and my buttox was in pain.
Pleasing event seven, er, three: Had mud cake at Logan’s brother’s birthday party. There was a multitude of people and videogames. I found people I hadn’t seen it a while and caught up, and we even had time to get in a game of settlers!( I know, plenty of games, right?)
so there you go, all fun events, just not major ones. So,… if your having a pleasing event or an enjoyable one, ENJOY IT!

The New Tradition…..

It’s been a while, but I’m back! and maybe I have a new thing to share with my friends for a while. The one football game that the rain ate everyone alive in, was a game i was planning on watching. Yet, there was that rain…. So my friends and I decided we didnt want to completley soak ourselves, so we got in our cars and left. The place we were heading for: The Coffee House. Sure it isn’t the best place to be on a Fri. night, but are plan was good. All eight of us there dug in our cars and found all the change we could to buy as many pancakes we could.

We compliled all total 9 or so dollars and bought the six pancake deal, two of us would have to fend for ourselves. But the waitress was a very gracious woman and got the cook to cook us twice the pancakes we ordered. After that feast was over, somehow the cook cooked our order again and another round of pancakes was passed out. The whole time, an old couple wasting time in the back stared and smiled at us. When it came time to leave, there were still pancakes left, so we held a rock paper sisscor tournament to see who would take them. And when we went to pay, we shovled out our pockets with the found change and payed the bill and the tip with change.

This is a song that holds a meaning to me, just for its “I’m going back to Carolina feel”. Sam Bush performs in the vid but it is originally by a banjo player called Grandpa Jones. Good Stuff.

I was driving Chun to assorted homes so he could gather his soccer junk for his soccer game later that evening. As we pulled out of Dogget road to turn on to the four-lane, we saw this man wearing a ensemble of blue jeans. He was also sporting a new white hat with a confederate flag on it. As we passed him slowly, Chun leaned out of the window and asked him if he was a Hobo. All he did was raise his hand and give us a thumbs up. We drove on and no more than thirty seconds later, we felt sorry for him. We debated silenly and we both came to the realization that we should turn around and give him a ride. Niether one of had to be anywhere fast. We got back to him and asked if needed a ride, and of course he did. He needed to get to Warrensville. We were happy to oblige him with a ride. The entire trip, he talked to us. He was knowledgeable about the Beatles and other classic rock icons that played on the radio. when the ride had ended, he offered to pay us with some of the beer he had just come to town to buy. We denied the drinks, but thanked him anyway and both of us said: “Goodbye Sir!” He told us he hadn’t been called sir in a while. As we were pulling away from his port-of-call, another willing driver pulled up to take him the rest of the way. Chun and me slowly grew ecstatic, partially due to the thought of the danger we could have been in and the fact that we had just helped a man down on his luck. We hadn’t been killed and now we had a story to tell. Some people yelled at us and told us of the danger we had been in, others envied us. However, Chun and me thought of the life experience we had just gained. It was fun. So Paul, If you ever get a chance to read this, Enjoy It!

The $500 Mouse.

So my mom is driving her car around this week, and about Wednesday, she starts smelling the rank and dasterdly smell of a rotting carcass. She turns on the air conditioning in the car to clean the smell out till she can find where it’s coming from, only to get blasted by a major wave of the odor twice as bad from before. The mouse was in the car, not the driver’s side or the passenger’s side or any side you can ride in for that matter. The mouse had crawled into the engine of the car and got inside the air conditioning system and bit the wrong wire. Thats where the smell was coming from. The mouse had messed up some parts biting the wire and the mechanics had to spend two days trying to find the source of the putrid smell. The irony of the situation is this: my mom keeps her car clean as a whistle and i don’t. We park literally ten feet from each other and I have old bits of food and and who knows what in my car. I can never have passengers in my backseat do to the sizable amount of coffee cups i throw around. Yet, that mouse chose the pristine car to kick the bucket in. It was a interesting story to hear, but kind of sad to see that amount of money down the drain just due to a creature no larger than a credit card. However, I must say no matter how bad the mess gets, mouse or otherwise, Enjoy It!

The Perfect Drive….

Have you ever been in a car just with yourself and your mind? Your driving around 7 or 8 in the evening and your driving kinda slow with the windows down, just enjoying the breeze and scenery. Nothing much interrups you. That happened to me today. Just drivin’ home and I roll down the windows. The air felt good, and then I turned on the radio. Every song that played thereforth fit the mood just great. Nothing heavy was on my mind so i took the curvy road, 194, back to my place. The views were great and there were no cars behind me to move me anymore forward than I wanted. Then, I had to turn off that great road and take another get home: Todd Railroad Grade. Ah, the river reflecting the sun’s last rays of the day was almost blinding, but mystifying with pinks and purples and some deep blues. Before I knew it, I was home. So, the next time your in a car alone, take the slow and winding way home. Don’t take it too fast, and if ya feel the need to stop, do it. And, as always, Enjoy It!
